Purpose
Bible verses about purpose and direction
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
Proverbs 16:9 holds two truths at once: you plan, and God establishes the steps. Direction usually comes one step at a time rather than as a full map.
These prayers are for crossroads — a job, a move, a relationship, a calling you cannot shake. Each includes a reflection and application steps so discernment turns into a decision instead of another loop.

Questions
Questions about purpose
How do I know God's will for my life?
Scripture points to a pattern rather than a formula: obey what God has already made clear, seek counsel, watch what he opens and closes, and take the next reasonable step in faith (Proverbs 16:9, Romans 12:2). Clarity often follows obedience instead of preceding it.
What bible verses help with big decisions?
Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 16:9, Psalm 32:8, James 1:5 (ask God for wisdom), and Isaiah 30:21 are the passages these purpose prayers return to.
What if I make the wrong choice?
God is not undone by an honest decision made in faith. Keep the decision reversible where you can, stay open to correction, and remember that Romans 8:28 covers the steps you got wrong as well as the ones you got right.
