Heavenly Father, before I begin making declarations over my life, help me understand what it means to decree according to Your Word.
A biblical declaration is not an attempt to command You, control the universe, manipulate another person, or create whatever I want through the power of my own words.
I do not place faith in a formula.
I place my faith in You.
When I decree Your Word, I bring my thoughts, speech, expectations, and conduct into agreement with what You have revealed in Scripture.
I use Your Word as the sword of the Spirit, according to Ephesians 6:17.
I speak truth against fear, condemnation, temptation, insecurity, confusion, and every lie that contradicts Your character.
Your Word says, “Your word is truth” (John 17:17, NIV).
Therefore, I declare Your truth over my emotions and circumstances.
I will not use Scripture to demand my personal will.
I will use Scripture to strengthen my faith and submit myself to Your will.
Your Word says that the tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21).
Teach me to use my words responsibly.
Let my mouth speak truth, wisdom, encouragement, faith, and life.
Keep me from speaking prideful declarations that You have not promised.
I understand that biblical faith includes obedience.
I will not merely speak about freedom; I will walk away from bondage.
