Father, in the name of Jesus I stand against the influence of deception operating around me and within me.

I renounce every lie I have believed about God, about myself, and about the people I love.

I sever my agreement with flattery, half-truth, manipulation, and false teaching.

Jesus said, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, NIV).

I ask for that freedom — not the comfort of a lie that soothes me.

Expose what is hidden.

Bring dishonest motives, concealed agreements, and misleading promises into the light before they cost me.

According to 1 John 4:1, I will test the spirits and test what I am taught.

I will measure teaching by Scripture rather than by charisma, urgency, or the size of a platform.

Guard me from self-deception.

Show me the places where I am the one telling the story wrong, and give me the humility to be corrected.

Let the truth of Your Word replace every lie I have rehearsed.

Let honesty become normal in my speech, my records, my relationships, and my private life.

I decree that deception will not set the terms of my life.

Truth will.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the prayer “Against Deception and Lying Influence” mean?

Deception works because it sounds reasonable. This prayer asks God to expose lies from outside — false teaching, flattery, hidden motives — and the harder ones from inside, where you are the one telling the story wrong.

How do I apply “Against Deception and Lying Influence” to my own life?

Write the one sentence you believe about yourself that Scripture flatly contradicts, and answer it with a verse. Test one teaching you have accepted lately against the Bible rather than against how it made you feel. Tell the truth in one place you have been managing the story — a number, a timeline, an apology. Ask someone who loves you where they think you are deceiving yourself, and do not argue with the answer.

What Bible verse goes with this spiritual influences prayer?

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 (NIV) Read the verse slowly before and after praying so the words shape how you pray rather than only how you feel.

Can I pray this prayer every day?

Yes. These daily prayers are free to read, print, or share, and repeating one for a week often does more than reading a new one each day. Praying the same scripture repeatedly helps it settle into how you think and respond.
