Father, in the name of Jesus, I stand against every influence of bondage, destructive compulsion, addiction, and loss of self-control.

Jesus declared: “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

” — John 8:36, NIV

I receive the freedom of Christ.

I decree that no substance, behavior, appetite, relationship, or destructive habit will become my master.

According to 1 Corinthians 6:12, I will not be mastered by anything.

I bind every influence that encourages secrecy, denial, self-destruction, and hopelessness.

I command every evil influence reinforcing bondage to leave my life in Jesus’ name.

I sever relationships, access, routines, and environments that continually support destructive behavior.

I cast down the lie that asking for help makes me weak.

God can work through recovery programs, medical treatment, therapy, support groups, accountability, and trustworthy spiritual care.

I decree that cravings will not make my decisions.

Shame will not drive me back into hiding.

If I experience difficulty, I will tell the truth, seek help, and continue pursuing freedom.

Let the fire of God’s holiness consume every destructive attachment.

Heal the pain, trauma, loneliness, or fear that harmful behavior attempts to numb.

I belong to Jesus Christ.

My body is not an instrument of destruction.

My mind is being renewed.

My habits are being transformed.

Self-control is growing within me through the Holy Spirit.

Bondage must release its hold.

Freedom, truth, accountability, and healing will govern my life.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the prayer “My Prayer Against Bondage, Compulsion, and Addiction” mean?

Compulsion survives on secrecy and shame. This prayer breaks the silence, removes the access and routines that feed the habit, and treats treatment, therapy, and accountability as God-given means rather than spiritual failure.

How do I apply “My Prayer Against Bondage, Compulsion, and Addiction” to my own life?

Tell one trustworthy person the truth about what has been hidden. Remove one specific access point — an app, a route home, a contact. Get real help: a program, counselor, or doctor, this week. Name the pain the behavior numbs and bring it to God instead.

What Bible verse goes with this spiritual influences prayer?

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (NIV) Read the verse slowly before and after praying so the words shape how you pray rather than only how you feel.

Can I pray this prayer every day?

Yes. These daily prayers are free to read, print, or share, and repeating one for a week often does more than reading a new one each day. Praying the same scripture repeatedly helps it settle into how you think and respond.
