In the name of Jesus Christ, I address the influence of fear that has been speaking over my life.

Fear, you are not my counselor.

You do not decide what I attempt, what I say, or what I walk away from.

I withdraw my agreement from you.

According to 2 Timothy 1:7, the Spirit God gave me does not make me timid but gives me power, love, and self-discipline.

I receive that Spirit and reject timidity as my identity.

I renounce dread that rehearses disaster, panic that overrides judgment, and intimidation that keeps me silent when truth needs to be spoken.

Father, I do not deny that some fear is wisdom.

Teach me the difference between a warning I should heed and a torment I should resist.

Psalm 34:4 says the Lord answered David and delivered him from all his fears.

I ask the same, and I will keep asking on the days it does not feel finished.

I will still act while afraid.

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is obedience while depending on God.

I decree that my decisions belong to Christ, not to fear.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the prayer “Against the Influence of Fear” mean?

Fear rarely announces itself — it just quietly becomes the voice you consult before every decision. This prayer names it, fires it from that role, and separates fear that is genuine wisdom from fear that is torment.

How do I apply “Against the Influence of Fear” to my own life?

Name the exact fear out loud, then name what it has stopped you from doing. Do one small thing today that fear has been postponing. Ask “is this a warning or a torment?” before you obey an anxious thought. Pray 2 Timothy 1:7 each morning this week instead of scrolling the thing that feeds the dread.

What Bible verse goes with this spiritual influences prayer?

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV) Read the verse slowly before and after praying so the words shape how you pray rather than only how you feel.

Can I pray this prayer every day?

Yes. These daily prayers are free to read, print, or share, and repeating one for a week often does more than reading a new one each day. Praying the same scripture repeatedly helps it settle into how you think and respond.
