Father, I place my children into Your loving and capable hands.

Protect their minds, bodies, emotions, identities, friendships, education, travels, and futures.

Guard them at home, school, childcare, work, online, in vehicles, and everywhere they go.

Protect them from abuse, bullying, exploitation, trafficking, violence, unsafe adults, harmful peers, addiction, dangerous online content, and destructive influences.

Give my children discernment beyond their years.

Help them recognize unsafe behavior and speak without fear when something is wrong.

Surround them with trustworthy adults who listen, believe, protect, and act responsibly.

I decree that shame and secrecy will not silence my children.

They will know that they can come to me and other safe adults without fear of blame.

Protect their minds from self-hatred, hopelessness, comparison, and confusion about their worth.

According to Psalm 139:14, they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

I bind the influence of fear, manipulation, and deception over their lives.

I sever unhealthy access from anyone attempting to groom, exploit, control, or harm them.

I cast down every lie telling them that they are worthless, unwanted, unintelligent, or incapable.

Let Your truth become deeply rooted within them.

Give me wisdom as a parent or caregiver.

Keep me attentive without becoming controlling, protective without becoming fear-driven, and loving without ignoring necessary discipline.

Help me use practical safeguards: appropriate supervision, online protections, background checks, open communication, emergency contacts, and prompt reporting of suspected abuse or danger.

Isaiah 54:13 speaks of children being taught by the Lord and enjoying great peace.

I pray that peace over my children.

My children are not beyond God’s sight.

I decree that they will grow in wisdom, truth, courage, healthy identity, and discernment.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the prayer “Protection Over My Children” mean?

Praying for children is not a substitute for supervising them. This prayer asks God for what you cannot control — their inner life, the rooms you are not in — and commits you to the safeguards you can control, especially making it safe for them to tell you when something is wrong.

How do I apply “Protection Over My Children” to my own life?

Tell each child plainly this week: “You will never get in trouble for telling me something an adult did.” Review one practical safeguard: device settings, who has unsupervised access, or an emergency contact list. Pray Psalm 139:14 over one child by name, especially if they are struggling with their worth. If you suspect abuse or grooming, report it promptly to the appropriate authorities.

What Bible verse goes with this protection prayer?

“All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace.” — Isaiah 54:13 (NIV) Read the verse slowly before and after praying so the words shape how you pray rather than only how you feel.

Can I pray this prayer every day?

Yes. These daily prayers are free to read, print, or share, and repeating one for a week often does more than reading a new one each day. Praying the same scripture repeatedly helps it settle into how you think and respond.
