In the name of Jesus Christ, I submit myself completely to God and resist the devil.

I reject every evil influence attempting to operate through fear, temptation, deception, accusation, hatred, obsession, or destructive behavior.

Jesus said, “I have given you authority…

to overcome all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19, NIV).

I do not use this authority independently from Christ.

I stand under His lordship and in agreement with His Word.

I bind the influence of fear over my mind.

I sever agreement with every lie contradicting my identity in Christ.

I cast down arguments and thoughts that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God.

I command every evil influence that has gained access through my voluntary participation in sinful or occult practices to leave my life as I renounce those practices and submit myself to Jesus Christ.

I reject divination, witchcraft, ceremonial magic, spirit guides, psychic consultation, curses, spells, and every attempt to obtain spiritual power apart from God.

Let the fire of God’s holiness burn away every remaining attachment to deception.

Let the light of Christ expose darkness and the truth of Scripture replace every lie.

I will not live obsessed with demons, curses, or invisible enemies.

My attention belongs to Jesus.

Christ’s victory — not fear — is the center of my faith.

According to 1 John 4:4, the One who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world.

I decree that my mind belongs to Christ.

My body belongs to Christ.

My home belongs to Christ.

My worship belongs to Christ.

Evil will not receive my agreement.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the prayer “Casting Out Fear and Evil Influence” mean?

Authority here is borrowed, not owned — it belongs to Jesus and you stand under it. The prayer renounces anything you actually opened a door to, then deliberately turns your attention back to Christ, because a faith centered on fighting darkness is still a faith centered on darkness.

How do I apply “Casting Out Fear and Evil Influence” to my own life?

Renounce specifically: name the practice, object, or agreement out loud rather than praying generally. Remove or discard anything in your home tied to occult practice. When a fearful thought arrives, answer it with 1 John 4:4 and move on instead of investigating it. Spend more time this week on worship and Scripture than on content about the enemy.

What Bible verse goes with this protection prayer?

“The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4 (NIV) Read the verse slowly before and after praying so the words shape how you pray rather than only how you feel.

Can I pray this prayer every day?

Yes. These daily prayers are free to read, print, or share, and repeating one for a week often does more than reading a new one each day. Praying the same scripture repeatedly helps it settle into how you think and respond.
